Here's what's up

If you're heading to the Mother City for the festive, you are in for a treat of note. December 13 and 14 marks the premier of  The Cape Town Hair and Beauty Show at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

What to expect

I had a chat with the event organizers and they promise this will be more of an experience than an exhibition - a one stop shopping experience for hair, beauty products and gifts just in time for the holidays. But wait, there's more, you get to unwind with a massage or have your hands and feet pampered with a mani or pedi - we're going to need it with all the shopping we'll be doing.

Various workshops will be running across the two days and the highlight for the Saturday will be a fashion runway show featuring the latest range of up and coming designers, hosted by Avant Garden
Sunday's main event will be an actual hair battle, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Smooth 'n Shine

Visitors each receive a welcome drink on arrival sponsored by FTV and all valid ticket holders stand a chance to win a holiday experience for two to Sun City (flights included. T's and C's apply).

Exhibitors include Smudge make up Wema Bodycare ( I cannot wait to try out their hair butter and body scrubs, all made with natural products)Twisted Sista,  Lush Hair South AfricaKeracare and a brand I've been waiting in anticipation to try, Design Essentials (YAY!)

Era By DJ Zinhle will be making it's Cape Town debut at the show. A Queens Lounge will be created for this occassion and guests can take photo's and meet special guest, DJ Zinhle herself. All valid ticket holders have access to the after party which takes place at Marimba Restaurant on the Saturday night where guest dj's, including DJ Zinhle herself, will be bringing the beats.

Bonus Points
For me personally, the best part is that a  percentage of ticket sales will be donated to CANSA. The organizers are  currently running a project for CANSA called Wigs For A Cause. The aim of this project is to collect modern wigs for CANSA as they are in need of it.

I will keep you updated on exhibitors, workshops and other news about the event.
In the meantime, why not call up your girlfriends and take advantage of their early bird special available at R100 through Computicket

Here's the fun bit - I'm finally doing my first giveaway (WHOOP WHOOP!). I have 2 sets of double tickets up for grabs. All you have to do is make sure you're in Cape Town on the weekend  and answer the following question in the comment section -

What is the one beauty product you cannot live without?

(Remember to click on the "Join This Site" button on the right and post your answer in the comment section below)

Good luck and...

  2. Okay! I CAN NOT go a day without my Avon Super Shock Max Mascara. It beautifies my eyes and you can recognize if I don't have it on. I carry it with me every where I go. #afrochick
