The Model Life

Tuesday, April 14, 2015

About a month and a half ago I received a Facebook message from someone I haven't even met yet, asking me if I would model for Kuier magazine. How would you respond to this message? Of course I shouted Yes at the top of my lungs, I'm not even gonna play and tell you I wasn't interested.

The shoot took about 4 hours and I enjoyed every. single. thing about it. Kuier's fashion editor, the gorgeous and oh so bubbly, Vania Cloete-Collison, made me feel right at home. But alas... let it be known... modelling is not child's play. I was drained by the end of it all. I take my hat off to those making a living out of it.

I had a mini celebration all by myself when the magazine came out. 5 pages... Whaaat?? The bubbly had to make an appearance!

So I've decided to post some of the pics because my hair was on fleek that day. You could almost hear my curls pop!

Here's how I got the look:
I co-washed with III Sisters of Nature Coconut Co-wash, plopped, added some castor oil and Tresemme Naturals conditioner, then tied into a pineapple until I got to the studio. By doing this I managed to stretch out my hair without disturbing the curls. Thereafter, I just puffed and fluffed until I was satisfied.

Thanks for reading and commenting. Until next time -

    1. Thanks so much. The updo was by Kuier's hair & make up lady, Shanaaz Alexander. Other than that, Vania wanted my hair exactly as I arrived :)
